Whether it was early in life, education, business, art, woodworking or woodturning, the opportunity to create and express thoughts and visual images has been my passion.

Today I view wood as a three-dimensional canvas which allows me to reveal the desires of my hands, heart and mind. Fortunately wood gives me great flexibility in achieving the images and designs I desire, whether they are whimsical, practical or just plain arty.

 

Wood has a personality of its own.   As an artist, it pushes me to express its traits which many times are hidden.   With sensitivity to its texture, color, figure and weight, I transform a piece of wood into a functional or non-functional piece of art.

When I can expose the greatest qualities of the wood along with the best use of my talents, the resulting piece is complete.
